§ Audition Announcement! Auditions and Technical/Stage Crew Interviews for the Maverick Theatre Performing Arts Special Course (MTA Competition Class) will be April 11th & 13th, 2017. Audition/Interview paperwork and appointment times will be available Monday, March 27th. It is MANDATORY for all students who wish to join the class to fill out the required paperwork AND audition/interview.

§ Legacy will present their spring show, "Life is Golden" on Tuesday March 28th @7:00 in the cafeteria. Tickets to the show are $5 and concessions will be available for $1. All proceeds to benefit Legacy's trip to Memphis for the National A cappella Competition on April 21st.
§ Who's Who pictures will be taken during the school day on Wednesday, March 29. You will be receiving details about this, but please make sure you are present that day and dressed appropriately.
§ Graduation invitations and senior supplies will be delivered on Thursday, March 30 at lunch. Please bring your balance due on this day. Balances due must be paid off in order to receive your cap and gown.

AP testing rosters are outside the counselors' office. Please run by and make sure your name is under the correct tests. If there is an error please notify one of the ladies sitting at the front desk in the counselors' office.

2017 – 2018 Junior Ambassador Program
Upcoming Juniors and Seniors who are looking for leadership opportunities please come by the counselors’ office and pick up an application.

§ The Mississippi Governor's School, a residential honors program for high ability students, is currently seeking applications for CURRENT sophomores and juniors to attend their summer program. The program is a 3 week program located on the Mississippi University for Women's Campus in Columbus, MS. The dates for the 2017 session are June 4 - 23, and the theme is Embracing Our Differences to Unite the World. Students who are selected for this three week residential program receive a full scholarship for tuition, room, and board. Students interested will benefit if selected to attend the program by receiving 2-3 hours of college credit to be used at any university, becoming stronger leaders, and building a stronger resume. Germantown High School has the opportunity to nominate 4 students. Interested students need to submit a Resume and 1 page essay to Mrs. Cobb by March 30th.
The Essay needs to describe your current leadership activities and what you hope to learn from this experience.
§ Seniors: Regions Bank is offering possible scholarships to students who participate in their Black History Month Essay contest. More information may be found on the counselor's scholarship page.
§ Seniors: The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Central Mississippi Chapter is offering scholarships to females with at least a 3.0 with plans to attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). Applications can be found on the Counselor's webpage and the deadline is March 24, 2017.
§ Seniors: David Thames' of Shelter Insurance is offering one GHS Senior a scholarship! Students must plan to attend an accredited college or university and graduate from GHS in May 2017. Applications may be picked up in the Counselor's office or downloaded from the Counselor's website. The deadline to return completed applications to Mrs. Cox is March 31, 2017.
§ Seniors: The GHS/St. Dominic Scholarship is offered to GHS seniors interested in pursuing a career in the medical field. Applications may be found on the counselor's website and the deadline is March 31, 2017.
§ The Germantown High School PTO is offering scholarships to graduating seniors who have positively impacted the MAV zone. Applications are the Counselor's webpage and are due to Mrs. Cox in the Counselor's office no later than March 31, 2017.
§ Mac Haik Auto Dealership is offering four scholarships to GHS Seniors only! Applications may be found on the Counselor's webpage and the deadline is March 31, 2017.
§ Seniors: Delta Sigma Theta is offering a one time $500 book stipend to a Madison county resident with at least a 2.75 GPA. For more information, go to the Counselor's webpage and click on "Scholarships". The deadline is April 3, 2017.
§ The 100 Black Men of Canton is offering scholarships to graduating Seniors with a 15 on the ACT, a C average and at least 8 hours of community service. A 500 word essay is required along with the application. The deadline is April 17, 2017. Applications can be found on the counselor's webpage
§ Seniors: The Metro Jackson Alcorn University Alumni Chapter is offering scholarships to seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA with plans to attend Alcorn. More information may be found on the Counselor's webpage and the deadline is April 19, 2017.
§ Seniors: The Mississippi Municipal League is proud to announce the annual MML Scholarship Program. The MML General Scholarship is open to all high school seniors and is co-sponsored by Mississippi Power Company. The MML Limited Scholarship is open to children or grandchildren of employees or elected officials of Mississippi municipalities and to high school seniors working part time for a member municipality of the Mississippi Municipal League and is co-sponsored by Phelps Dunbar. The Mississippi Municipal Service Company Limited Scholarship is open to children or grandchildren of employees or elected officials of Mississippi municipalities that are members of the Mississippi Municipal Liability Plan or the Mississippi Municipal Workers' Compensation Group.
