 School Days!!!!

Welcome to Elementary!!

I am originally from Meridian, Mississippi.  I attended Mississippi State University and Mississippi College where I got a degree in Elementary Education.  I have been teaching for 21 years.  This is my 11th year at the Academic Options Center.
I have lived in Madison, Mississippi for 22 years with my husband and two sons.  I enjoy many hobbies like scuba diving, camping,  gardening, and attending concerts.  I love teaching and especially teaching in the Madison County School District.

*** Please see the dress code under About Us: Alternative School for information about the dress code.

Spelling Words will be given to the students on Monday morning and the spelling test will be given on Friday morning.

Upper Elementary 3rd-5th:  Students will be given a spelling assignment on Monday morning.  Students can work on these assignments at their own pace, but the assignments must be turned in by Friday morning.  The spelling assignment will be graded.

Lower Elementary K-2nd:  Students will be given spelling practice assignments daily to work on in class.

*** All homework will be placed in the Behavior Log binder that will be sent home daily.  I try not to give homework on Wednesdays and Fridays, but sometimes that may change.  Just check the binder daily.

**** I encourage you to read with your child daily or have them read at least 15 minutes a day.

*** Elementary students are allowed to bring book bags.

**** Students that behave weekly will be given the opportunity to not wear their uniform on Friday.  I will let you know on Thursday if your child will be able to wear nonuniform clothes on Friday.

A Behavior Log will be sent home daily. Please sign and return the binder the following day!
