Mr. Cofield has been in education for 26 years with the last 18 here in the Madison County School District. This is his first year as the principal of the Academic Options Center. He was an assistant principal at MMS for the past 14 years. Mr. Cofield has also worked as a teacher/coach at Clinton, Southern Arkansas University, Hernando and Madison Ridgeland Academy.
Mr. Cofield earned his bachelor’s degree from Mississippi College (1989) in secondary education. He also has a master’s degree from Southern Arkansas University (1993) in kinesiology and Mississippi College (2003) in education leadership.
Mr. Cofield has been married to Stacy Cofield for 22 years and they have three children: Morgan who will attend Ole Miss, Josh is a Junior at Madison Central and Ryan is a 8th grader at MMS. He likes spending time with his family, going to ballgames and playing golf.
