Born in Fort Worth, Texas, I spent a little time in Tulsa, Oklahoma, before making Mississippi my home state. I spent most of my school years in Jackson. As a graduate of Mississippi State University, I earned my degree in elementary education and have been a National Board Certified Teacher for the past 12 years. I presently serve as the coordinator for the National Board Mentoring Program for Madison County. After 31 years of teaching experience in Texas, Virginia, and Mississippi, and the last 15 at Madison Middle, I am excited to begin a new adventure as the Literacy Specialist at our school. In my new role, I oversee the Multi-Tier System of Supports, designed to support students who are below grade level in reading. I am married to Tommy, who is the Care Pastor at Broadmoor Baptist Church and have three grown children.
