    What is Beta Club?

    The National Beta Club has become the nation's largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization. We are committed to recognizing and promoting high academic achievement, rewarding and nurturing worthy character, fostering leadership skills and encouraging service to others.

    Beta Club Guidelines and Requirements

    1. GRADES – You must maintain a 90% or above average in all subjects.

    Probation- If you fail to meet the grade requirements, you will be placed on probation status for a nine week period.

    If your grades return to the required level, you will be reinstated in good standing. If, however, you still fail to meet the required level, you will lose your Beta Club eligibility for this school year. You may join next year.

    1. ATTENDANCE – You must attend scheduled Beta meetings. Meetings begin at 7:50 (in the library). Give the sponsors a written excuse which must be an acceptable reason for being absent. Check the calendar and listen to announcements for meetings.

     

    1. SERVICE PROJECTS – You are expected to help with service projects. You are required to receive a minimum of 15 hours. You will receive a service hour sheet which must be filled out, signed and returned to the sponsors.

     

           4.DUES – The total cost is $40.00, due September 18.

    DUES WILL NOT BE RETURNED!

     

    Dues will be paid by CHECK. Please make the check payable to 7th grade Jr. Beta Club MMS.

     

    RETURN IN A SEALED ENVELOPE TO A BETA CLUB SPONSOR. Place the check in a sealed envelope with the student’s name and homeroom teacher on the outside. Write the student’s name on the check. A receipt will be sent to the homeroom teacher to give to the student.

     

    HOW DUES ARE SPENT:

    Field trip costs (such as bus fees, cost of the field trip, etc.)

    Local dues - $ 15.00 covers the local dues which are paid yearly.

    7th Grade Beta Club T-shirt (for field trip days especially) approximately $10.00

     

    Dates to Remember:

     

    September 9th:

    --Turn in the first sheet of the packet (filled out and signed)

    – Pay dues: $40 check
