The GED option program is available is for students to complete their education at the Madison Career and Technical Center.  Students need to qualify to be able to join this class.   Students interested in this program must be submitted by their counselors at their homeschool.  If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Laura Beth Guynes at Madison Career and Technical Center during office hours, or by email at lbguynes@madison-schools.com

MADISON COUNTY SCHOOLS is pleased to offer this option for completion.  We are able to offer this due to the Senate Bill#2855.  This legislation mandates that students who are enrolled in the High School GED option program shall not be classified as a drop out.  Students placed in this program WILL NOT participate in regular academic courses or athletics and extracurricular activities.  However, GED option students are permitted and often required to participate in technical courses.

Student is 16 or older.
Student must be at least one grade level behind or have acquired less than four Carnegie units.
Student must not be enrolled in an Alternative Education for behavioral issues.
