Key Club

Ridgeland High School Key Club

The Key Club might be the largest and most active club at RHS.  Boasting over 100 members, and providing well over 2,000 hours of service to our school and our community, Key Club is an excellent organization to be a part of.

Key Club is associated with Kiwanis International, and the RHS Key Club is sponsored by the Hinds-Madison Kiwanis Club.  The Key Club motto is "Children:  Their Future, Our Focus."  We keep most of our service projects geared towards children:  helping out with Trunk or Treat, reading to kindergarten children, providing new and gently used books to needy schools, working at the Ronald McDonald House, and partnering with charities like UNICEF, the March of Dimes, and the Children's Miracle Network.  We adopt between 15-20 needy children at Christmas, purchasing them toys and clothes.

We have members who hold leadership positions on the District Board, and we actively attend district and international Key Club conventions.

Dues for Key Club for the 2012-2013 school year are $30.  This includes international, district and local dues,  a student-designed t-shirt, and lunch at our Regional Key Club Rally to be held on November 10th at Ridgeland High.  Members are required to earn 30 service hours per year, and members who do not do so must pay a $5 penalty.  Mandatory events for Key Clubbers are the Rally, Trick or Treat for UNICEF, the March of Dimes Walk for Babies, and this year's Governor's
Project, chosen by LaMissTenn Key Club District Governor Rachel Benoit.  This year's project will focus on The Elimate Project.  Seniors who accumulate enough service hours earn a Key Club medal to be worn at graduation.
