Dear ASE families,

It is hard to believe that our school year is coming to a close. We have had a great year and are honored to have been a part of your family's life for the 2016-2017 school year.

Report cards are issued on the last day of school, Friday, May 19th. This day is a 60% day. Families, if your child is absent the last day of school, you may begin picking them up at our front office on Tuesday, May 23rd. If you have a fine, you will need to pay that fine before we will issue your report card to you.

Students are expected to complete summer reading and summer work packets each summer. Entering K students are expected to read 50 books and log them on the 50-Book Challenge book log that is attached to the supply lists. You may log any book that is read to, with or by the student. Entering 1st graders and 2nd graders are expected to complete the summer work packet AND read 100 books and log them on the 100-Book Challenge Log. Again, these books may be read to, with or by students. Students reading longer chapter books may count each chapter as 1 book. Students may also log any MyON books they read. Please contact us if your student has forgotten their MyON user name or password. All students that complete the summer reading and work packet requirements will attend a Back to School Bash that will be held at school on Friday, August 18th. Please remember, school stops in the summer but learning never should.

Our summer office/registration hours are 8:00-12:00 Monday through Friday. All returning families need to come in to update their residency folders so we may place their student in a class for the 2017-2018 school year. If you own your home, please bring in 2 June or July bills to our office this summer. If you have a lease, please bring in an updated copy along with your 2 bills. Please call or visit our office if you have any questions about residency, enrollment or the 2017-2018 school year.

Meet the Teacher is Monday, August 7th from 3:00-5:00. Students will meet their teacher and drop off their supplies this evening. In order to be placed on a class roll and meet the teacher on the 7th, you must have your enrollment and residency update complete by Friday, August 4th. Our office will not enroll students or update residency folders on Monday, August 7th. Please make plans to visit our office during the months of June or July to ensure your child's enrollment and residency folders are complete.

We are so happy to have you here with us at ASE. As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. You are always welcome at our school, and we appreciate all of your support.

Sincerely,

Melissa Philley
