Hours: The Library is open from 7:30 am until 3:45 pm. Students are usually welcome earlier and later if the library lights are on, but please don't assume - ask. Also, sometimes during peak research season the library has extended hours so listen to MCTV for announcements of later library hours. 15 Minute Rule: We observe the 15 minute rule in the library (a school rule that says students must be in class during the first and last 15 minutes of the block) and students are not allowed in the library during those specified times. Passes: No passes are required for students before or after school. During the school day, no students are allowed in the library without a printed pass from the teacher of your current block and students are required to sign in. Please make sure the pass has the following information: Student Name Date Time Sent Teacher’s Name Passes from your lunch block teacher are required during the 3rd and 7th blocks. Seniors who have early dismissal are welcome in the library during the last block without a pass, but we ask that you sign in and not wander in and out of the library. Food: No food is allowed in the library! You may bring a drink, provided it has a screw-on lid. Computers: Computers are for school business only. Students may not play games, watch non-school related videos, or shop online using school computers. Copies and Printing: Students may print in black and white for $.10 per page and in color for $.25 per page. Photocopying is available for $.10 per page. Book Check Out: Students may check out a maximum of two books at a time for a period of two weeks. Special collection books may be checked out for shorter periods of time. Books may be renewed once if no one has requested the book and you do not have to have a book with you to renew. Fines for overdue books are $.10/day/book. Reference books may not be checked out. In order to serve a maximum number of patrons, we reserve the right to alter the check out and/or renewal time for books that are being used by multiple classes. Please remember that libraries are for borrowing and sharing. Please don't check out a book and keep it for months. If you want a book for the year – buy it! (Then if you like, re-sell it when you’re done.)
