Welcome to a new year! I am looking forward to the journey we are about to begin. I have chosen Travelers, not Tourists: Journeying to new places through the written word as our class theme. This theme will allow us to go on many journeys right in our own classroom. The students will not simply be taking reading, but rather they will experience a year of thinking, writing, reading, listening & creating. Technology and all strands of the arts will be utilized in order to tap into the skills and talents the students already possess. The class will rely on a multitude of teaching strategies, so that students master the strategies necessary to become good readers and writers. Your child’s time will be well-spent in this classroom. I am looking forward to an outstanding year. *Homework may be found to the left in the Homework Blog.*
