Welcome Message

Welcome to 5th grade! I am looking forward to a great year!!!!

About the Teacher

"Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand."

I have 10 years of teaching experience. After graduating from Mississippi College in 2000, I taught  4th grade for one semester in Jackson Public Schools. I then, married and moved to Los Angeles, California, where I taught for 3 years. While in Los Angeles, I taught honors and gifted English, Ancient History, and was also fortunate enough to advise the yearbook class. After my husband graduated from law school in Los Angeles, we moved to Tampa, Florida. In Florida, I taught middle school for three years. When my children, Emerson and Reese, arrived I put teaching on hold for two years. This will be my fifth year back as a teacher at Madison Crossing. I can't say enough about my experience here. I love my job and look forward to coming to work everyday. For me, there is no greater reward than teaching. My job is to teach; but my passion is to inspire, to reach young minds, to challenge students beyond what they think is possible. Thanks for allowing me to be apart of your year. It will be a great one.
