END OF YEAR Message
Dear Parents,
The year is coming to an end, and I know we are all ready. This week is a very important to the students because their final grades will be determined by how well they perform on their tests this week and next.
The MCTII Reading Test will be given on Tuesday. The MCTII Writing Test will be on Wednesday. Students need to study and know all the information on their yellow MCT Reading Review sheet and on their orange MCT II Writing Review sheet for these tests. Please encourage students to get plenty of rest, bring two #2 pencils, and eat a good breakfast before their test. I have a special activity planned for Thursday for the students that do their best during testing. Also, please remember that the MCTII tests are factored into what classes they are able to take in the high school and are also recorded on their permanent school record.
On Wednesday, students will be given review information for the Semester Exam. All students will find out at that time whether or not they are exempt from the Language Arts Exam. The Language Arts Exam will only be given in the first language arts testing block.
I have enjoyed your students this year and know they will do well at Rosa Scott.
Sincerely,
Paige Pratt

Dear Parents,
On Fridays this spring, students will be given a quiz with application questions covering the weekly objectives. Please encourage your student to study the materials given to them during the week. These quizzes can be used as study guides to prepare them for the comprehensive tests given to them during this nine weeks. The first test is scheduled for February 1. In addition, their nightly grammar/vocabulary homework will continue as posted on the Homework Blog. Keep checking the website for upcoming reading and writing assignments.
Thank you for your help and support!
Sincerely,
Paige Pratt

About the Teacher
I am so excited to be at Madison Middle this year. My family and I moved to the Madison area from Vicksburg last year. Although this is my first year at MMS, I taught English and history for the last six years. Four of these were spent in eighth grade which is my favorite.
Prior to teaching, I graduated with a Bachelors and Masters in Business and a minor in English from Millsaps College. When I decided to return to work when my now ninth grader was old enough, teaching was the perfect profession. My other child will be a senior at Madison Central this year. Go Jags!
